Hyderabad/Kazipet, Nov.29 (RAHNUMA): Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy on Saturday inspected the under-construction Railway Manufacturing Unit (RMU) at Kazipet, noting that the “long-cherished dream of Telangana” is fast becoming a reality.

The Central minister informed that 75% of the construction is complete, with the project expected to be ready by next year. The unit is proposed to manufacture 16-coach MEMU rakes and is designed with the latest technology, promising significant direct and indirect employment opportunities in the region.

Reddy said Telangana is witnessing “unprecedented railway development” under the Prime Minister’s leadership, citing Vande Bharat services, electrification, new trains, Amrit stations, and the KAVACH safety system.

Earlier, he also inspected Warangal Railway Station, reviewing passenger amenities and ongoing upgrades. Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager, SCR presented the welcome address. P.V Saiprasad, Chief Project Manager, RVNL briefed the media on the salient features of the above project.
