
Hyderabad, Dec.6 (NSS): Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU) paid rich floral tributes to Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar on his 69th death anniversary at its campus here on Saturday.
Addressing staff at the “BRAOU Rising” programme held at the CSTD Auditorium, University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ghanta Chakrapani said the varsity is striving to realise Dr. Ambedkar’s vision by promoting inclusive education. He highlighted initiatives such as equal scholarships, special subsidies for women’s education, free education for tribal communities, transgenders and persons with disabilities, along with skill-based courses, MoUs with organisations, and enhanced job opportunities for students.
Registrar Dr. L.V.K. Reddy, who presided over the programme, presented a detailed report on the university’s achievements and development projects undertaken during the past year and thanked the government for its support.
The event was organised under the leadership of Dr. Banoth Dharma, SC/ST Cell In-charge Director. Senior faculty members, directors, deans, staff, student representatives and service association members garlanded Dr. Ambedkar’s portrait and offered floral tributes.
