
Hyderabad, Dec.6 (RAHNUMA): The Cyberabad Police marked the 63rd Home Guards Raising Day on December 6 with a ceremonial parade at the Cyberabad Commissionerate parade grounds, attended by senior officers and Home Guards personnel.
Commissioner Avinash Mohanty highlighted the launch of Telangana’s first Home Guards Co-operative Credit Society and welfare initiatives, including Rs.33 lakh health insurance for salary-account holders and comprehensive medical benefits.
DCP Sanjeev announced enhanced welfare measures such as increased parade allowance, Rs.5 lakh ex-gratia for deaths, and improved uniforms. In Cyberabad, six Home Guards’ families received Rs.43 lakh accidental death insurance, while Rs.15 lakh election ex-gratia was sanctioned for a Home Guard who died on duty.
The DCP informed that 912 of 1,053 Home Guards have enrolled in the Credit Society, with Rs.92 lakh in loans sanctioned and Rs.38.19 lakh extended for critical medical treatments.
