
Guntur, Dec.24 (RAHNUMA): The South Central Railway’s Guntur Division has inaugurated a ‘Sleeping Pods’ facility at Guntur Railway Station, enhancing passenger comfort through affordable short-stay accommodation. Set up under the Non-Fare Revenue (NFR) initiative, the facility is located at Platform No.1, Gate No.3.
The modern facility houses 64 beds, including 52 single beds and 12 double beds, with exclusive allocations for families and women travellers. Amenities include free Wi-Fi, hot water, snack bar, travel desk, lockers and hygienic restrooms.
Affordable tariffs range from Rs.150 for single beds (up to 3 hours) to Rs.1,000 for rooms (up to 24 hours).
SCR General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava appreciated the Guntur Division for its passenger-friendly initiative and proactive revenue generation. Similar facilities already exist at Visakhapatnam and Charlapalli stations.
