Hyderabadi-origin insurance leader explores cross-border opportunities

(RAHNUMA) Mashood Max Ali, FCIP—one of Canada’s leading underwriting professionals of Hyderabadi origin—was in Hyderabad during the past week exploring potential business opportunities and strengthening cross-border insurance linkages between India and Canada.
Ali is the Chief Underwriting Officer at PMU Specialty, Vancouver, Canada, where he specializes in placing complex insurance coverages across high-tower and large-scale construction projects, medical malpractice, hospitality, and Errors & Omissions (E&O) insurance for architects and engineers. These areas are increasingly relevant to Hyderabad, which has emerged as a world-class city leading the way in complex, multi-storey and high-value developments.
Ali also serves as a Board Member of the Insurance Brokers Association of British Columbia (IBABC) and holds the FCIP (Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional) designation—the highest professional designation in the Canadian insurance industry.
During his visit, Ali met with senior representatives of the erstwhile royal family and prominent business leaders in Hyderabad, and was hosted for dinner by The Rahnuma-E-Deccan Family, publishers of Hyderabad’s oldest daily newspaper.
The visit also coincided with Telangana’s ambitious growth roadmap. Under the “Telangana Rising 2047” vision led by A. Revanth Reddy, Hyderabad is being positioned to evolve into a USD $3 trillion economy by 2047. “Hyderabad is an amazing city – at the forefront of building the world’s tomorrow today” said Ali.
