
Hyderabad, Jan.2 (RAHNUMA): Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka stated that under the Gruha Jyothi scheme, beneficiaries are being provided free electricity up to 200 units. He gave this explanation while replying to a question raised by MLC Vijayashanti in the Legislative Council on Friday.
Bhatti Vikramarka informed that so far, the number of Gruha Jyothi beneficiaries in the state stands at 52,82,498, and on their behalf, the State government has paid ₹3,593.17 crore to the electricity distribution companies.
Out of these beneficiaries, 25,35,560 fall under the SPDCL jurisdiction, while 27,46,938 are under the NPDCL jurisdiction, the Deputy Chief Minister said.
The Deputy Chief Minister explained that through the Gruha Jyothi Scheme, the government has borne an expenditure of ₹3,593.17 crore for 52.82 lakh families, which has significantly benefited them. The scheme has helped families progress socially, health-wise, and economically, and has also enabled them to provide better education for their children, he added.
