Hyderabad, Jan.13 (RAHNUMA): Telangana has created history by procuring 70.82 lakh metric tonnes of paddy during the Kharif 2025 – 26 season, the highest ever by any state, Civil Supplies Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy announced here on Tuesday.
The procurement benefited 13.97 lakh farmers through the Minimum Support Price (MSP) operations. Breaking down the figures, the Minister noted that 32.45 LMT consisted of the coarse variety, while 38.37 LMT was of the fine grades. All procured paddy has been shifted to mills for processing. MSP payments crossed Rs.16,602 crore, achieving a 98% disbursal rate. An additional Rs.1,425 crore was paid as bonus. The Minister said the achievement reflects the government’s strong commitment to farmers’ welfare and food security.
