Hyderabad, Jan.18 (RAHNUMA): Stressing that the anti-people policies of PM Narendra Modi must be countered, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Sunday called for unity to fight against the dangerous policies of the BJP government and stated that the BJP was more dangerous than the British.
Speaking as the chief guest at the centenary celebrations of the Communist Party of India (CPI) in Khammam city on Sunday, CM Revanth Reddy said that many rights were achieved only through the struggles of the Congress and CPI parties, which have a history of 100 years. He stated that independence was achieved through the struggles of both the parties during the British rule. He added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was now trampling upon the rights of every citizen by introducing various policies.
He recalled that former PM Indira Gandhi, with the slogan “Land belongs to the tiller,” introduced agricultural reforms and distributed thousands of acres from the landlords. He said that it was due to the struggles of the communists that the Congress party brought in farmer laws to ensure fair prices for the farmers’ produce and put an end to the middleman system. He stated that the BJP has no place in Khammam district. He appealed to everyone to join the future struggles of the Congress party against the Bharatiya Janata Party and Narendra Modi and to work together to make their party leader Rahul Gandhi as the next Prime Minister. The CM concluded by expressing his heartfelt thanks and gratitude.
