Colonel Amiruddin’s eldest son advises teaching love for Ahle Bait to Indian Muslims
(RAHNUMA) LUCKNOW: Nawab Syed Akram Abbas, eldest son of the renowned late preacher from Hyderabad, Lt. Nawab Colonel Syed Mohammed Amiruddin, widely known as “Colonel Saheb,” met eminent Nadwa scholar Allama Mufti Syed Salman Nadwi in Lucknow. The meeting was marked by warm reminiscences of time spent with the late Syed Abul Hasan Ali Nadwi.
Both families share a distinguished scholarly and ancestral lineage. Like Nawab Saheb’s family, which traces its ancestry to Imam Husayn ibn Ali through Imam Hasan al-Askari, Allama Mufti Salman Nadwi’s lineage also traces back to Imam Husayn ibn Ali. Notably, his mother was the niece of Imam Syed Abul Hasan Ali Nadwi. Allama Mufti Salman Nadwi has served as Dean of the Faculty of Dawah at Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulama, Lucknow.
The legacy of Nawab Syed Akram Abbas’s late father, Colonel Amiruddin of Hyderabad (Deccan), continues to be remembered internationally. The authors of Fatawa‑e‑Rahimiyah wrote: “The famed preacher from Hyderabad (Deccan), Colonel Amiruddin, at whose hands nearly three thousand Americans have accepted Islam…”
During his teenage, Nawab Akram Abbas studied with Amir i-Hind Maulana Syed Arshad Madani at Deoband, resided at Moulana Syed Abul Hasan Nadwi’s residence for a year, and also stayed with Moulana Masihullah Khan, the spiritual successor of Moulana Ashraf Ali Thanvi, for a year.
The meeting concluded with an invitation to visit Canada extended to Allama Nadwi by the Nawab on behalf of his eldest son Nawab Sayyid Asad Dean, CPA, and a thoughtful discussion on the importance of spreading love, reverence, and unity through devotion to the Holy Prophet, his Ahle Bait, and the Book of Allah.
