Hyderabad, Jan.23 (RAHNUMA): The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) has made extensive arrangements to transport pilgrims for Medaram Jathara – 2026, scheduled from January 28 to 31, with special operations beginning from January 25 to February 1.
According to officials, around 4,000 buses pooled from across the State and Hyderabad will be operated, with nearly 20 lakh pilgrims expected to travel by RTC buses, particularly after the implementation of the Mahalakshmi free travel scheme for women.
A temporary bus station spread over 50 acres has been established at Medaram with 50 queue lines capable of accommodating 20,000 passengers at a time. Parking facilities for 1,000 buses, medical camps, drinking water, toilets, and a command control centre with 76 CCTV cameras have been arranged.
Over 10,400 staff, including drivers, conductors, security and officers, will be deployed round the clock. Route patrolling, breakdown support, and fuel arrangements have also been put in place.
TGSRTC cautioned that regular bus services may be reduced across the State and Hyderabad during the Jathara period due to diversion of buses.
