Hyderabad, Jan.23 (RAHNUMA): Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao on Friday said the courage, sacrifice and patriotism of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose continue to inspire Indians, especially the youth.
He was addressing a gathering after unveiling a statue of Netaji at Kukatpally on Parakram Diwas, marking the freedom fighter’s 129th birth anniversary. Floral tributes were offered on the occasion.
Rao said Netaji’s life and ideals must be studied to strengthen national service. He described Netaji as a towering leader of the freedom movement who mobilised youth and led the “Azad Hind Fauj” in an armed struggle against British rule.
Recalling historic moments, he noted that Netaji hoisted the Tricolour in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on December 30, 1943, declaring India’s independence.
Later, Rao paid floral tributes to Netaji’s portrait at the state BJP office. Senior BJP leaders and party activists attended the programme.
