Hyderabad, Jan.27 (RAHNUMA): South Central Railway (SCR)reaffirmed its commitment to safety in train operations with a detailed review meeting held on Tuesday, at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad.
Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager, South Central Railway, presented the “Employee of the Month” Safety Awards to twelve employees in recognition of their dedication and alertness in preventing unsafe conditions.
Satya Prakash, Additional General Manager, SCR, participated in the meeting along with all Principal Heads of Departments. Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, and Nanded Divisions joined the review meeting through video conference.
The General Manager presented the “Employee of the month” safety awards to the staff pertaining to the critical and most essential staff like Station Masters, Loco Pilots, Points Man and Key-man etc. These awards were presented to the staff belonging to Secunderabad Division – 03, Guntur Division – 02, Vijayawada Division – 02 and Guntakal Division – 05. The General Manager congratulated the awardees and appreciated them for the dedication in discharging their duties with utmost devotion. He stated that these awards will inspire and motivate other employees to be more vigilant and work sincerely to ensure safety in train operations.
Sanjay Kumar Srivastava stated that assumption and lack of attention are the root causes of untoward incidents and cautioned staff against adopting shortcut methods. He instructed all officers and supervisors to conduct regular safety drives focusing on staff alertness and adherence to working procedures and reiterate its importance.
The General Manager further directed that during safety drives, officers and supervisors to conduct surprise checks to ensure the safety procedures to be followed at worksites / construction sites. He stressed that worksite safety requirements should never be compromised and the staff at the work spot must be sensitized on all aspects of safety.
