Vivek slams BRS for looting Telangana

Hyderabad, Feb.4 (RAHNUMA): Vivek Venkataswamy, the Minister for Employment and Labour and in-charge of the Medak Parliament elections, has expressed strong criticism towards the BRS party and the Kalvakuntla family, attributing the state’s current debt crisis to their governance.

He emphasied that the Congress government is actively working to correct the shortcomings left by the previous administration.

In a recent meeting with Congress candidates from Medak Municipality, Vivek accused the BRS party and the Kalvakuntla family of misappropriating state resources over a decade.

“They engaged in corrupt practices by demanding commissions for projects, thereby enhancing their own personal and party wealth,” he stated. The Minister further asserted that the assets of the Kalvakuntla family had reached staggering levels and cited that the BRS party currently holds deposits amounting to Rs. 800 crore. Additionally, he claimed that Megha Krishna Reddy contributed Rs 400 crore in electoral bonds to the BRS.

Vivek Venkataswamy contended that while the BRS failed to provide double-bedroom houses to the underprivileged, prominent members of the party, including the former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao, his son, daughter, and son-in-law, have constructed extensive farmhouses on large tracts of land.

“No one is refuting the allegations made by Kavitha because all of them are true,” he stated.

The Minister accused the previous BRS administration of burdening the prosperous state with a staggering debt of Rs.8 lakh crore, stating that “with an income of only one lakh crore, it is insufficient to cover even the interest.”

Vivek expressed confidence, saying, “While we anticipate that candidates from the Congress party will secure 80 percent of the councillor positions statewide, we are assured of achieving a 90 percent victory rate in Medak.”
