Hyderabad, Feb.4 (RAHNUMA): Dundigal Police solved the murder of an 85-year-old woman within 24 hours, by arresting a 36-year-old woman who earlier worked at the victim’s house.
According to Medchal division ACP Ch Shankar Reddy, the accused P Kavitha (36) killed the elderly woman Chinnabattini Susheelamma with a stone and fled with gold jewellery, which she later sold. The CCTV cameras installed by a local resident, Srikar Reddy, Church Gagillapur, Dundigal, played a crucial role in solving the case. The resident will be honoured for assisting the investigation.The case was solved within 24 hours by Dundigal Police with the assistance of CCS and SOT teams. Police seized the gold ornaments which included one pair of gold earrings and one finger ring, and a mobile phone.
The police appealed to the people for installation of CCTV cameras in residential areas and establishment which are essential for prevention and detection of crimes.
