
Hyderabad, Feb.7 (RAHNUMA): Minister for Agriculture Tummala Nageswara Rao undertook a significant visit to the oil palm factory located in Narmetta village of Nanganur mandal in Siddipet district on Saturday.
This visit was aimed at assessing the operations of the factory, which represents an important initiative in the agricultural sector of the region.
During his visit, Minister Nageswara Rao meticulously toured various departments of the factory, where he personally conducted a thorough inspection of several critical processes. He examined the procedures involved in the receiving and processing of fresh fruit bunches (FFB), as well as evaluated the factory’s oil production capacity. Furthermore, he took note of the storage facilities available on-site, the performance of the machinery deployed in production, and the adherence to established quality standards.
In addition to his inspection, the minister engaged in detailed discussions with factory officials regarding essential logistics, including the transportation of raw materials from local farmers to the factory. He inquired about the procedures involved in weighing the raw materials and the systems in place for ensuring timely payments to the farmers. These discussions underscored the minister’s commitment to improving the operational efficiency of the factory while supporting the local agricultural community.
Following his engagement at the factory, Minister Nageswara Rao took the opportunity to meet directly with oil palm farmers in the vicinity. This interaction provided him with valuable insights into the challenges and difficulties faced by these farmers in relation to crop cultivation. He actively solicited their feedback and suggestions, demonstrating an understanding of their concerns and a dedication to addressing them. In response to the issues raised, he directed officials to prioritise timely procurement processes, establish transparent payment systems, and offer technical assistance to the farmers, thereby ensuring that they do not encounter any undue inconveniences in their operations.
As the inauguration of the factory, which is to be officiated by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, approaches, Minister Nageswara Rao, accompanied by relevant officials, undertook a comprehensive review of the arrangements being made for the ceremony. Recognising the importance of this event, he instructed the officials to effectively coordinate and implement the necessary infrastructure, security measures, and logistical arrangements, thereby ensuring the successful conduct of the inauguration.
In his remarks, the Minister articulated that the government’s foremost objective revolves around the welfare of farmers and the broader agenda of agricultural development. He expressed his conviction that the cultivation of oil palm will significantly enhance the income levels of local farmers, thereby contributing positively to their livelihoods.
In attendance during this pivotal visit were notable figures, including Oilfed Chairman Janga Raghava Reddy, Oilfed Managing Director Yasmin Basha, the project manager, and several district officials from the relevant departments, as well as staff members, all of whom contribute to the factory’s operations and the broader vision of agricultural advancement in the region.
