
Hyderabad, Feb.7 (RAHNUMA): TGSRTC extended financial support to the families of two drivers who lost their lives in separate road accidents, providing Rs.1 crore each under a free accident insurance scheme linked to the UBI Super Salary Savings Account.
The deceased drivers, A. Venkatesh of Kushaiguda depot and D.R. Goud of Uppal depot, died in unrelated accidents, leaving their families grieving the loss of primary breadwinners. Cheques were handed over at Bus Bhavan here on Saturday by TGSRTC vice-chairman and managing director Y. Nagireddy along with Union Bank of India Executive Director Amresh Prasad.
Nagireddy expressed condolences and reiterated the corporation’s commitment to employee welfare, stating that such financial schemes play a crucial role in supporting families during difficult times. He urged the employees to make full use of welfare initiatives and thanked Union Bank of India for facilitating the accident insurance benefit.
Venkatesh died after being hit by a lorry near Keesara while travelling to duty, while Goud and three other family friends were killed in a car collision during a pilgrimage trip to Ganagapur in Karnataka.
