
Hyderabad, Feb.8 (RAHNUMA): Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Telangana organised an Interactive Session on the Industrial Potential of Adilabad as part of the Sixth Meeting of the CII Telangana State Council 2025–26, bringing together senior district administration, local representatives, and industry members to discuss pathways for inclusive and sustainable regional development.
Addressing the gathering, Sai D Prasad, Executive Director, Bharat Biotech International Ltd emphasised the strategic importance of the MANA region—Mancherial, Aseefabad, Nizamabad and Adilabad—as an integrated growth corridor. He highlighted the need for high-speed rail connectivity between Hyderabad and the MANA region to enhance accessibility and investment attractiveness. He also underscored the role of forestry conservation and rejuvenation of water bodies in strengthening eco-tourism and sustainable development. Referring to wildlife conservation, he noted the proposal for establishing tiger reserves in Telangana through the transfer of tigers from Madhya Pradesh, which has received a positive response from the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister. He further called for a focused push to attract Global Capability Centres (GCCs) to the MANA region, leveraging its cost advantages and talent potential to drive balanced regional growth. Ms Meghna N Shrimali, Partner – Consulting, Ernst & Young LLP further shared the proposal on MANA corridor inspired by MahaSTRIDE project in Maharashtra to develop Gadchiroli district.
Sanjeev Deshpande, Chairman, CII Adilabad Zonal Council & Chairman, N-Labs Pvt Ltd, during his address emphasised on the importance of industry stepping up to develop Adilabad by means of attracting investment, improving on connectivity, upskilling, generating employment, and more. He also highlighted the immense potential of Adilabad in various industries.
During the interactive session, Rajarshi Shah, IAS., District Collector & Magistrate, Adilabad, outlined ongoing and proposed initiatives, including a 10,000-acre industrial park being taken up through TGIIC, improved irrigation infrastructure in northern Adilabad, proposals for a textile and MSME garment park, an upcoming IT tower, and efforts to strengthen rail connectivity under the MANA corridor framework. He also highlighted opportunities in limestone and manganese-based industries and confirmed plans for continued engagement with CII for policy advocacy.
Addressing the gathering, Payal Shankar, Member of the Telangana Legislative Assembly, reiterated the government’s focus on accelerating development through the proposed Adilabad airport, expansion of highways from four to six lanes, improved rail connectivity, and creation of an industry hub leveraging the district’s land bank. He also highlighted proposals to revive the Cement Corporation of India unit on a PPP model, development of a defence ecosystem including an Air Force training centre and a proposed defence research facility, and the potential for aviation-related infrastructure such as hangar and refuelling facilities to enhance regional connectivity.
The session concluded with a call for closer collaboration between government, industry, and CII to unlock Adilabad’s potential, address cost and policy constraints, promote skill development and education, and position the district as a key growth node within Telangana.
