
Hyderabad, Feb.10 (RAHNUMA):Special programmes marking International Childhood Cancer Day were organised at the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), where children undergoing cancer treatment participated in a drawing competition aimed at boosting morale and spreading joy.
The event, conducted by the Medical Oncology Department, saw participation from Sudha Reddy, Chairperson of the Sudha Reddy Foundation. The initiative focused on encouraging creativity and emotional expression among young patients while offering psychological support during treatment.
All participating children received prizes and gifts, along with nutrition diet kits to support their health needs. Sudha Reddy highlighted the importance of emotional resilience, social support, and proper nutrition in comprehensive cancer care.
NIMS Director Dr. N. Beerappa appreciated the Foundation’s support, while Medical Oncology Head Prof. Dr. Sadashivudu Gundeti, faculty members, resident doctors and hospital staff attended the programme.
