
Hyderabad, Feb.17 (RAHNUMA): Minister for IT and Industries Sridhar Babu stated that the government’s objective is to guarantee that healthcare is both accessible and affordable for the people, while the Telangana Life Sciences Policy aims to draw investments totaling $25 billion.
In remarks presented to the media during the BioAsia 2026 conference on Tuesday, Sridhar Babu emphasised the necessity for life sciences companies to advance by utilising artificial intelligence technology.
He announced that the state government intends to establish a Life Sciences University in Telangana, with the aspiration of transforming Hyderabad into a prominent hub for Life Sciences and Pharmaceuticals.
“Our objective is to transform Hyderabad into a center of excellence for Life Sciences and Pharmaceuticals. We are expanding Genome Valley Phase 4 by an additional 100 acres, which is being developed with cutting-edge infrastructure. By the year 2035, we aim to attract $25 billion in investments within the life sciences sector, subsequently generating 5 lakh new employment opportunities for the youth,” Sridhar Babu stated.
“Our ambition is to position Telangana among the top three global clusters in life sciences. Youth will receive skill development training in advanced domains, including AI-based drug discovery. Hyderabad is being developed not only as a manufacturing hub but also as a research center for innovative drug discovery,” Sridhar Babu added.
