
Hyderabad, Feb.19 (RAHNUMA): Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was remembered as a visionary ruler and a social reformer during a commemorative programme held at Media Point, Lakdikapool, marking his birth anniversary. Speakers highlighted his governance model rooted in social justice, farmers’ welfare, inclusive administration and protection of women’s dignity.
National BC Dal president Dundra Kumaraswamy said Shivaji’s concept of Swarajya emphasised equality and empowerment of marginalised communities, making his legacy relevant to modern democracy.
The event was presided over by retired IPS officer Dr. Jai Poornachandra Rao, with participation from former IAS officer Chiranjeevulu and other dignitaries. Participants called upon youth to draw inspiration from Shivaji’s leadership and contribute towards building a more equitable society.
