Hyderabad, March 7 (RAHNUMA): Minister for Labour, Employment and Mines G. Vivek Venkatswamy stated that the state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, is embarking on a strategic initiative to elevate Telangana’s economy to the $3 trillion mark in the forthcoming years.
He conveyed that achieving this ambitious objective necessitates ongoing collaboration with industry leaders and stakeholders.
During his address at the annual gathering of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in Hyderabad on Saturday, the Minister emphasised the government’s strong commitment to skill development to equip the youth for emerging industrial opportunities.
Governor Jishnu Dev Varma also attended the meeting as the chief guest.
Minister Vivek noted that the Employment Department has established Advanced Technology Centres (ATCs) to provide training aligned with the needs of contemporary industries.
Vivek remarked that Telangana is experiencing a consistent influx of investments, with numerous new industries anticipated to emerge in the state.
To support this trend, the government is proactively working to ensure a skilled workforce capable of meeting future industrial demands. The introduction of new training programs geared towards the evolving needs of industries is also underway, he indicated.
The Minister highlighted that while the government is dedicated to enhancing the ease of doing business, equal emphasis is being placed on expediting business processes to facilitate swift implementation of investments. Concurrently, industries are encouraged to fulfill their responsibilities by voluntarily adhering to regulations and standards.
Vivek urged industrial entities to rigorously follow safety guidelines and comply with the statutory norms set forth by both the Government of India and the Government of Telangana.
In reference to the newly established labour codes, he stressed the necessity for industries to ensure compliance to protect the interests of workers. He emphasized that the costs associated with adhering to safety and statutory regulations are negligible when juxtaposed with the potential losses stemming from negligence or non-compliance.
The Minister called on industries to actively collaborate with the government and adhere to statutory regulations to foster sustainable industrial growth and promote worker welfare within the state.
