
Hyderabad, March 7 (RAHNUMA): Marking International Women’s Day, the Indian Poultry Equipment Manufacturers Association (IPEMA) – Poultry India honoured women leaders and entrepreneurs for their growing role in the poultry sector at a special event held in Hyderabad on Saturday. The celebrations highlighted the growing role of women in leadership, entrepreneurship and participation in the poultry sector and allied industries.
The programme brought together industry members to recognise women contributing to entrepreneurship, farm management and allied services within the poultry ecosystem. Special guests included D. Samata Venkata Reddy, Municipal Chairperson of Chevella; Seetha Ranjith Reddy, Director of SR Hatcheries Pvt. Ltd. and Dr. Kiraannmayye Addu, Chief Clinical Nutritionist at BirthRight by Rainbow Hospitals.
The guests also interacted online with rural women entrepreneurs from the Kesla Poultry Society, learning about their community-led poultry initiatives.
Speaking on the occasion, Uday Singh Bayas, President of IPEMA–Poultry India, and M. Srikanth, Treasurer of IPEMA, highlighted the expanding role of women in strengthening rural livelihoods and nutrition security through poultry farming. “As an industry that contributes substantially to nutrition security and rural employment, the poultry sector continues to witness inspiring leadership from women across various roles. IPEMA–Poultry India remains committed to encouraging greater participation of women and recognising their achievements”, he added.
IPEMA, organiser of the globally recognised “Poultry India Expo”, announced that the 18th edition of the expo will be held in Hyderabad, with Knowledge Day on November 24, 2026, followed by the exhibition from November 25 to 27, 2026.
The event concluded with a call to encourage greater participation of women and inspire the next generation of professionals in the poultry industry.
