Nalgonda, March 26 (RAHNUMA): Stating that education alone can transform families, Roads & Buildings and Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Thursday urged parents to ensure that every child pursues education without interruption.
The Minister performed the ground-breaking ceremony for a Government Junior College building in Kangal mandal, to be constructed at a cost of ₹6 crore, and later distributed Kalyana Lakshmi cheques.
Addressing a gathering, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said the State government is prioritising education and is establishing Young India Integrated Residential Schools in every constituency with modern facilities.
Announcing a key welfare measure, he said intermediate students will also be provided breakfast along with mid-day meals from the coming academic year. The proposed junior college at Kangal, he noted, would greatly benefit rural students in surrounding villages, he said.
Highlighting ongoing initiatives in Nalgonda, the Minister said a government medical college has been completed with an outlay of ₹150 crore, while a nursing college will be ready by December. Skill development is being strengthened through a ₹20 crore NAC building and an ₹80 crore ATC centre, while around 2,500 women are being trained through SETWIN programmes, he said.
Recalling his personal contribution to the sector, the Minister said educational institutions were also established through his own resources, including a junior college and development of a government school on corporate lines.
Reaffirming his commitment to the district, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said, “The people of Nalgonda made me what I am. I will always be available to serve them in any situation.” He added that with the support of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Nalgonda would be developed into the number one district in the State
