Hyderabad, April 2 (RAHNUMA): Marking the rollout of the State’s ambitious “Praja Palana – Pragathi Pranalika” (99-Day Action Plan), Telangana Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao participated in a Gram Sabha at Tummaluru village in Maheshwaram mandal of Rangareddy district, interacting directly with the residents and officials.
The programme, attended by District Collector Narayana Reddy and other senior officials, is part of a statewide initiative to strengthen grassroots governance through direct public engagement.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Secretary said the initiative aligns with the vision of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to position Telangana as the number one State in the country by 2047. He urged citizens to actively participate in governance and emphasized that Gram Sabhas aim to identify and resolve local issues on the spot.
Highlighting key welfare measures, he noted that the government is ensuring effective implementation of schemes, including distribution of fine rice through ration cards. He added that diet and cosmetic charges in hostels and schools have been enhanced to improve nutrition and facilities for the underprivileged students.
Reiterating the government’s commitment to housing for all eligible beneficiaries, the CS also underscored women empowerment initiatives such as interest-free loans for self-help groups, school uniform stitching work, and RTC driver training programmes, thereby enabling their economic upliftment.
Kalyana Lakshmi cheques were distributed to beneficiaries during the Gram Sabha, reflecting the government’s focus on welfare delivery at the grassroots level.
