Hyderabad, April 4 (RAHNUMA): Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla on Saturday underlined the growing importance of trauma medicine in view of the increasing number of accidents and emergency situations.
He was speaking as the chief guest at a national conference on “Trauma & Conflict Medicine” organised by the Society of Acute Care, Trauma & Emergency Medicine (SACTEM) Foundation in association with Medicover Hospitals at the Blue Planet Auditorium in Gachibowli.
The Governor observed that in life-threatening situations, the prompt decision-making and technical expertise of doctors play a decisive role in saving lives.
“In such critical moments, the dedication of medical professionals becomes the most powerful instrument,” he said.
Noting that Hyderabad has earned global recognition not only in the field of information technology but also for providing super-speciality healthcare at affordable costs, he described the conference as a significant milestone in the medical field.
The conference aims to train and equip medical professionals to effectively handle complex emergency situations, particularly in the domains of trauma and conflict medicine. Experts from across India and abroad participated in the event, facilitating knowledge exchange that could lead to innovations in the healthcare sector, he said.
Making a special appeal to young doctors, the Governor urged them to view themselves not merely as medical practitioners but as protectors of society. He emphasised that their responsibility extends beyond treatment to building a safe and healthy society. Sensitivity and service, he added, remain the true strengths of the healthcare system.
The Governor commended the team of Medicover Hospitals for organising the conference and expressed confidence that it would provide new direction and impetus to the medical field.
Among others, Special Chief Secretary to the Governor M. Dana Kishore, representatives of SACTEM, and officials of Medicover Hospitals were present.
