LONDON(RAHNUMA): Bahraini air defense intercepted and destroyed 188 ballistic missiles and 477 drones launched from Iran since the onset of the US and Israel military campaign against Iran on Feb. 28.
Bahraini air defenses have been facing Iranian warheads almost daily, targeting vital sites, including the airport, ports, a desalination plant and civilian neighborhoods.
The country’s General Command said that using ballistic missiles and drones to target civilians and private property violated international humanitarian law and the UN Charter, posing a direct threat to regional peace and security, according to Bahrain News Agency.
Bahrain was one of 10 countries targeted by Iran with missile and drone attacks. However, the country did not participate in any US-led operations against Tehran.
On Tuesday, the King Fahd Causeway, a vital bridge connecting Saudi Arabia to Bahrain, was closed due to threats of Iranian attacks. The 25-km bridge serves as the only road connection to the Arab Gulf island of Bahrain.
