
Hyderabad, April 9 (RAHNUMA):With temperatures expected to rise by 2–3°C over the next three days, the Telangana Health Department has issued a public advisory urging strict precautions.
Director of Public Health and Family Welfare Ravinder Naik advised the people to avoid stepping outdoors between 12 PM and 3 PM, stay in cool and ventilated spaces, and avoid strenuous activity during peak heat hours.
The key safety guidelines included – stay hydrated; drink water frequently even if not thirsty ; use ORS and consume lemon water, buttermilk and fruit juices ; avoid alcohol, caffeine, sugary and high-protein foods ; wear light, loose cotton clothing and cover the head outdoors ; carry water while traveling and prefer outdoor activities during morning or evening.
Officials urged the citizens to immediately visit the nearest government health centre if symptoms of vomiting, dehydration etc. appear. Public hospitals have been equipped with special beds, IV fluids, and medicines, while ORS sachets are available through ANMs, ASHAs, and Anganwadi workers.
