
Hyderabad, April 23 (RAHNUMA): The government has earmarked 100 exclusive overseas scholarships annually for Christian minority students, in addition to the existing 500 minority scholarships, taking the total to 600 per year under the Chief Minister’s Overseas Scholarship Scheme for pursuing higher studies abroad.
As per GO 21 dated Dec 20, 2025, the newly added seats will be strictly reserved for Christian students, capped at 100 per year for pursuing postgraduate and doctoral studies abroad.
Under the existing 500-seat distribution:
– Muslims: 480 seats (96%)
– Jains, Sikhs, Buddhists, Parsis: 5 seats each (1% each)
The government clarified that any unfilled seats from the original quota will be reallocated to Muslim students, ensuring optimal utilization.
