Welfare, development are twin engines of Telangana’s growth: Bhatti

Hyderabad, May 22 (RAHNUMA): Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka stated that the state government is giving top priority to welfare schemes, economic self-reliance, construction of Future City, women empowerment and Musi Rejuvenation.

The Deputy Chief Minister participated in the 49th State-level Bankers’ Meeting at the Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Praja Bhavan in Hyderabad on Friday. Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao, Special Chief Secretary Dana Kishore, Principal Secretary (Finance) Sandeep Kumar Sultania, Secretary (Finance & Planning) Gaurav Uppal, RBI Regional Director Chinmaya Mohan, SBI CGM Nilesh Dwivedi, and others participated in this bankers’ meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka clearly stated that the people’s government is working with determination to establish Telangana as a $3 trillion economy by 2047.

He said it is a remarkable achievement that total bank deposits in the Telangana state have reached nearly ₹9.43 lakh crore, while advances touched ₹12.34 lakh crore. Telangana’s Credit-Deposit ratio of 130.78% is exceptional, he added.

The Deputy Chief Minister expressed happiness that banks exceeded agricultural loan targets against a target of ₹1,65,297 crore, banks disbursed ₹1,68,401 crore in agricultural loans, achieving 101.88%.

He said agriculture is the backbone of Telangana’s economy and appreciated banks for supporting farmers, dairy farmers, fishermen, and allied sectors through schemes including Kisan Credit Cards.

Bhatti Vikramarka said Telangana is among the fastest-growing industrial states in the country. He urged banks to focus more on providing loans to micro, small and medium enterprises, as well as women, Dalit and tribal entrepreneurs.

The Deputy Chief Minister also appealed to banks to adopt a more positive approach towards educational loans, saying student loans are investments in the future of the youth. He stated that the people’s government has proved that welfare and development can progress together like twin engines.

Bhatti Vikramarka said the Telangana government aims to make the state a $3 trillion economy by the financial year 2047. Though it is a big dream, he said it is certainly achievable considering Telangana’s current growth rate.

The Deputy Chief Minister pointed out that while the national average growth rate stands at 8.2%, Telangana is growing at 10.7%. Similarly, while the national per capita income is ₹2.1 lakh, Telangana’s per capita income has reached ₹4.18 lakh, making it one of the leading states in the country.
