
Hyderabad, May 28 (RAHNUMA): A two-day consultative workshop on quality assurance in online education, jointly organized by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bengaluru and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University, Hyderabad concluded at the BRAOU campus here on Thursday.
The workshop brought together academic leaders, administrators, and experts from across the country to discuss strengthening quality standards in online education. Key deliberations focused on curriculum development, digital content creation, teaching-learning processes, student support systems, assessment practices, faculty development, technology platforms, and continuous quality improvement.
Former Director of South Africa’s Council on Higher Education, Dr. Britta Zawada, stressed the importance of aligning learning design with assessment practices and strengthening academic integrity among faculty and students. Participants highlighted the need for assessment models beyond multiple-choice questions, including peer assessment, industry participation, and skill-based evaluation.
Delegates also reviewed institutional assessment and accreditation parameters for online education systems. Around 56 delegates from across the country participated and exchanged best practices and innovative approaches for improving higher education quality.
The workshop was attended by BRAOU Vice-Chancellor Prof Ghanta Chakrapani, NAAC Director Ganesan Kannabiran, CoL-CEMCA Director Basheerhamad Shadrach, IGNOU Vice-Chancellor Uma Kanjilal and other senior academicians.
