SCCL CMD reviews Ramagundam-1 operations; stresses safety, output balance

Hyderabad, May 29 (RAHNUMA): Chairman & Managing Director of The Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) Dr. Buddhaprakash Jyoti on Friday undertook an extensive tour of the Ramagundam-1 Area and reviewed mine production, employee welfare, safety measures, and various facilities.

As part of the visit, the CMD interacted directly with employees, officers, and workers at GDK-11 Incline, seeking their suggestions for the company’s development. During the interactive session, he discussed the present status of the company, measures for enhancing coal production, productivity, quality improvement, and future plans.

The CMD stated that Singareni’s rich experience, discipline, and collective work culture have made it a unique organization. He emphasised that the company accords equal importance to employee welfare and safety alongside production growth.

On the occasion, the CMD inaugurated the 5th Man Riding System established in the mine. He said that the system would enable employees to travel safely, quickly, and comfortably between the mine surface and underground workplaces, significantly reducing physical strain on workers.

Buddhaprakash Jyoti also felicitated employees who played a key role in the installation of the Man Riding System and other developmental works, appreciating their dedication and commitment.

Speaking on the occasion, Director (operations) L.V. Suryanarayana stated that GDK-11 is the second-largest mine in Singareni in terms of productivity and mechanization. He advised officials to make effective use of modern machinery to reduce the cost of operations while achieving production targets.

Director (projects & planning) K. Venkateswarlu urged employees to work collectively to bring the mine to a zero-loss position and ensure profitable operations.

Later, the CMD visited GDK-5 Opencast Mine and reviewed coal and overburden production, transportation, machinery utilization, and productivity. He instructed officials to achieve the assigned targets while maintaining safety, efficiency, and quality standards.

The CMD subsequently visited the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Ramagundam-1 Area and inspected the sports and recreational facilities provided for employees and their family members. He stressed the need to promote sports and healthy recreational activities for the well-being of employees.

Later, at the Ramagundam-1 Area General Manager’s Office, the CMD conducted a video conference with General Managers of all areas. During the meeting, he reviewed coal production, productivity, safety standards, quality, cost control measures, and future targets, and issued necessary directions. The CMD instructed all areas to work in coordination to achieve the production targets assigned to them and contribute to the overall growth of the company.
