Hyderabad, May 30 (RAHNUMA): Desa Squadron emerged as the Champion Squadron for Spring Term 2026, clinching the prestigious Commandant’s Banner at the Air Force Academy (AFA), Dundigal.
The banner was presented by Air Marshal Rahul Bhasin, Commandant, AFA, during the Commandant’s Banner Conferment Ceremony held at the Tejas Parade Ground. Flight Cadet Vatan Dhindsa received the coveted honour on behalf of the squadron.
The event marked the culmination of intense inter-squadron competitions spanning academics, sports, debates, quizzes, field camps, cross-country runs and drill contests. Naidu Squadron won the Inter Squadron Drill Competition with an impressive display of precision, coordination and discipline.
Addressing cadets and trainee officers, Air Marshal Bhasin praised their dedication, teamwork and pursuit of excellence, while urging them to remain physically fit and mentally agile throughout their careers. He also congratulated the instructors and training staff for their crucial role in transforming raw civilians into confident, mission-oriented leaders imbued with the ethos to lead with courage, conviction and honour.
