
Hyderabad, June 1 (RAHNUMA): Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager of South Central Railway (SCR), conducted a high-level safety review meeting at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad on Monday, to assess the zone’s preparedness for the upcoming monsoon season and ensure uninterrupted train operations.
The meeting was attended by Satya Prakash, Additional General Manager, SCR, along with Principal Heads of Departments, while Divisional Railway Managers of Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded divisions participated through video conferencing.
Reviewing monsoon safety measures, the General Manager directed the officials to undertake immediate trimming, cutting and notching of trees located near railway tracks and Overhead Equipment (OHE) to prevent weather-related disruptions. He instructed field supervisors to remain alert and ensure prompt resolution of safety issues.
Emphasising operational safety, Srivastava called for strict vigilance against miscreant activities, including the placement of metallic objects or construction materials on tracks and OHE installations, which could pose serious risks to train movements.
He also ordered regular inspections, round-the-clock monitoring of vulnerable locations and the speedy completion of all pending repair works to enhance railway safety and reliability during the monsoon season.
