
Hyderabad, June 6 (RAHNUMA): Minister for Health Damodar Raja Narasimha inspected the arrangements for the inauguration of the state-of-the-art TIMS Hospital in Sanathnagar, Hyderabad, on Saturday.
He conducted a comprehensive review of the hospital’s preparedness, as it is set to be dedicated to the public soon by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
Raja Narasimha visited Blocks A, B, and C of the hospital and inspected various sections, including the Outpatient (OP) registration area, inpatient wards, emergency department, ICUs, operation theatres, CT scan and MRI facilities, diagnostics, laboratories, blood bank, mechanised laundry, centralised kitchen, and pharmacy.
He personally examined the state-of-the-art medical equipment, infrastructure, and medical service management systems, and offered several suggestions to the officials.
The Minister directed R&B and Health department officials to complete all pending works on a war footing before the hospital’s inauguration. He instructed them to ensure that water supply, electricity, sanitation, security, and fire safety systems are prepared to the highest standards to avoid any inconvenience to patients.
The Minister directed that arrangements for OP counters, registration counters, help desks, pharmacy services, and waiting areas be further strengthened. He also instructed officials to ensure that the necessary doctors, technicians, and staff are kept ready so that modern equipment—such as CT scanners, MRI machines, digital X-ray units, and ultrasound machines—remains fully available to patients.
Raja Narasimha stated that the Sanathnagar TIMS Hospital is being developed in line with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s vision of providing corporate-standard super-specialty medical services to the poor. He directed officials to ensure that TIMS emerges as a premier medical institution capable of delivering world-class healthcare services to the people of the state.
He directed that better facilities be provided for patients as well as their attendants. He ordered the comprehensive provision of amenities such as a Dharmashala (rest house), canteens, parking facilities, hostel blocks, and other support services.
On the occasion, the Minister reviewed aspects such as hospital management, medical services, human resources, non-medical services, security, and sanitation with the officials and issued necessary instructions.
Health department Principal Secretary Christina Z. Chongthu, Director of Medical Education Narendra Kumar, NIMS Director Beerappa, senior officials from the R&B and Health departments, and representatives of the construction firm participated in the meeting.
