AIR FORCE TO FLY NEET PAPERS AS TELANGANA TIGHTENS EXAM SECURITY

Hyderabad, June 6 (RAHNUMA): With nearly 73,000 students set to appear for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) on June 21, Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao on Saturday reviewed through video conference the statewide preparations for the national medical entrance examination, paddy procurement operations, and arrangements for the Chief Minister’s upcoming district tours.

At the review meeting, the Chief Secretary stressed the importance of ensuring foolproof arrangements for the successful conduct of the NEET examination. He directed district administrations to work in close coordination with all concerned departments and ensure that the candidates are provided a hassle-free environment on the examination day.

Principal Secretary to Health Christina Zongthu briefed the meeting on the preparations undertaken for the examination and informed that 72,956 candidates will take the examination at 208 centres across 24 cities. Enhanced security measures are being put in place, with the National Testing Agency (NTA) engaging the Indian Air Force for the first time to transport question papers securely.

Additional Director General of Police Mahesh Bhagwat emphasized the need for close coordination between the police department and district administration. He directed police officials to ensure comprehensive security arrangements at all examination centres and maintain constant vigilance. He cautioned officials against rumour mongering and misinformation and advised them to actively monitor and utilize social media platforms to promptly address any false information that may affect the conduct of the examination.

Director General of the National Testing Agency (NTA) Abhishek Singh asserted that enhanced security protocols are being implemented for this year’s examination.

The Chief Secretary directed the district collectors to ensure seamless coordination among the departments for smooth conduct of the examination and asked officials to remain vigilant against misinformation on social media.

Reviewing paddy procurement, the chief secretary instructed the district administrations to expedite procurement and safeguard harvested stocks in view of forecast rainfall. Collectors were also directed to make comprehensive arrangements for the Chief Minister’s proposed visits to various districts in the coming days.

DGP CV Anand, Commissioner Civil Supplies Stephen Ravindra, Special Chief Secretary to panchayat raj and rural development Dana Kishore, GHMC Commissioner Karnan, CEO SERP Divya, Special Commissioner I&PR Mukunda Reddy and other officials participated in the video conference.
