
Hyderabad, June 6 (RAHNUMA): Chairman of the Telangana State Finance Commission Sirisilla Rajaiah paid a courtesy call on Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla at Lok Bhavan, Hyderabad, on Saturday.
Members of the State Finance Commission Sankepalli Sudheer Reddy and Rangaraju, along with Member Secretary P. Katyayani Devi, accompanied the Chairman during the meeting.
The delegation held brief discussions with the Governor on various issues relating to the State’s financial affairs and the development of local bodies.
Later, JNTU Vice-Chancellor Prof. T. Kishen Kumar Reddy, Government of India Mint Chief General Manager Dr. Ramakant Dixit, and BJP Telangana State Vice-President . K. Madhavi also called on the Governor at Lok Bhavan.
Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla also flagged off the second phase of “Abhaya Hunt the Summer 2026” at Lok Bhavan.
Organised by the Abhaya Foundation, the initiative aims to protect street vendors, daily wage workers, road construction labourers and the homeless from the adverse effects of extreme summer heat.
As part of the programme, the Governor inaugurated the distribution of 500 umbrellas in Telangana. With CSR support from Shar Projects and Yathapu Consulting, around 3,000 umbrellas worth approximately ₹15 lakh are being distributed across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and West Bengal.
Abhaya Foundation founder Swami Balachandra, trustee Gubba Vidyasagar, and representatives of Shar Projects and Yathapu Consulting participated in the programme.
