AMMAN(RAHNUMA): Jordan’s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities on Saturday welcomed the UK’s decision to update its travel advice and reclassify most parts of the kingdom as safe for travel.
In a statement, the ministry said the move reflects Jordan’s security and stability and reinforces its position as a destination for tourists from around the world.
The ministry said the updated guidance was expected to boost confidence among European travelers and support Jordan’s tourism sector, which remains a key contributor to the national economy.
According to the statement, the UK Embassy in Amman welcomed the return of British visitors to Jordan for tourism and business purposes, while encouraging travelers to consult the latest guidance on the UK government’s official travel advice website.
Jordan is home to some of the region’s best-known tourist attractions, including Petra, Wadi Rum and the Dead Sea.
The country has worked to maintain its tourism appeal despite regional tensions that have affected visitor numbers across the Middle East.
The ministry said Jordan’s tourism sites and facilities are fully prepared to welcome visitors, adding that the revised UK travel advice underscored international confidence in the kingdom’s safety and stability.
