
Karimnagar, June 11 (RAHNUMA): Officials of Drugs Control Administration (DCA), Telangana raided an unlicensed medical shop in Choppadandi village and seized medicines worth Rs.5.51 lakh.
Acting on specific information, the officials found 28 varieties of medicines, including antibiotics, IV fluids, painkillers and diagnostic kits, stocked for sale without a valid drug licence. The shop was allegedly being operated by Mallarapu Akhil.
The seized stock has been sent for analysis, and further investigation is underway and action will be taken as per law against all the offenders. DCA warned that wholesalers supplying medicines to unlicensed outlets would also face stringent action under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act.
S. Umarani, Drugs Inspector, Karimnagar, conducted the raid under the supervision of Sri K. Dass, Deputy Director, Nizamabad, and Dr. N. Narsaiah, Assistant Director, Karimnagar. DCA officers lifted the samples for analysis.
