Civic agencies, police collaborate to redesign Cyberabad streets for safety

Hyderabad, June 11 (RAHNUMA): Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) Commissioner G. Srijana participated in the creating safer streets for all in cyberabad capacity-building workshop organised by the Cyberabad Police at the Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre on Thursday.

The programme was attended by Dr. M. Ramesh, Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad, along with senior officials from the Cyberabad police, traffic police, zonal commissioners, heads of departments, deputy commissioners, engineering officials, and other senior officers of Cyberabad Municipal Corporation.

The workshop served as a platform for bringing together urban planners, engineers, civic administrators, and traffic management agencies to deliberate on strategies for creating safer, more accessible, and inclusive streets across the city.

Discussions focused on key aspects of urban mobility and road safety, including safer street design, pedestrian infrastructure, junction improvements, speed management, and the creation of people-friendly public spaces. Interactive sessions highlighted practical approaches and best practices aimed at enhancing safety for pedestrians, cyclists, commuters, and all road users.

The programme also emphasised the importance of integrating urban planning, engineering solutions, traffic management, and enforcement measures to improve mobility and ensure safer streets for all sections of society.

The workshop provided a valuable opportunity for knowledge sharing, capacity building, and collaboration among civic agencies, planners, engineers, and law enforcement authorities. Participants exchanged ideas and experiences on adopting sustainable and inclusive urban design principles to address emerging mobility challenges in rapidly growing urban areas.

The commissioner noted that such collaborative initiatives play an important role in strengthening institutional capacity and fostering coordinated action among stakeholder departments. She reiterated the commitment of Cyberabad Municipal Corporation towards supporting initiatives that promote road safety, inclusive mobility, improved public infrastructure, and sustainable urban development.

The workshop concluded with a shared commitment among participating agencies to work together towards creating safer, more accessible, and people-centric streets across Cyberabad.
