Hyderabad, June 24 (RAHNUMA): Minister for Labour, Employment, and Mines Dr. G. Vivek Venkatswamy said there is nothing women cannot achieve and they are capable of creating extraordinary success stories in every field when provided with opportunities and encouragement.
The Minister was speaking as the chief guest at the Women Empowerment Conference organised in connection with the launch of the India Chapter of WETA (Women Empowerment Telugu Association) at Jubilee Hills Convention Centre, Hyderabad on Wednesday. The conference focused on key themes such as women’s empowerment, employment opportunities, and the global impact of rural women.
A large number of women, young professionals, and students attended the event. The programme, organised under the aegis of WETA Founder Hanumandla Jhansi Reddy, was attended by Ministers Seethakka, Ponnam Prabhakar and Adluri Laxman, and several other dignitaries.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Vivek Venkatswamy appreciated the efforts of organisations like WETA in promoting women’s empowerment. He expressed hope that such platforms would expand further with the objective of strengthening women economically, socially, and politically.
The Minister described the journey of WETA founder Hanumandla Jhansi Reddy as truly inspirational. Starting as a homemaker and growing into a successful entrepreneur, she went on to establish WETA in the United States and has now expanded its activities to India.
He said her journey demonstrates how women can scale great heights when given the right opportunities and support.
The Minister also lauded women leaders such as Yashaswini Reddy, who have transitioned from being homemakers to active participants in public life, earning the trust of people and demonstrating effective leadership. He emphasized the need for greater participation of women in politics and decision-making positions.
Vivek Venkatswamy stressed that family support, particularly encouragement from men, plays a crucial role in women’s success. He called upon families to respect women’s time and efforts and to support their aspirations and ambitions.
