“Telangana needs vision, not a stopwatch”: MLC Sravan hits back at CM Revanth

Hyderabad, June 26 (RAHNUMA): Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC Dasoju Sravan launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy over his reported remarks asking government employees to work an extra hour daily to boost state revenues and curb revenue leakages.

Calling the statement a reflection of the government’s “administrative bankruptcy and lack of vision”, Sravan said governance cannot be improved by merely extending office hours. “Clocks measure time, but visionary leadership measures impact. Revenue generation depends on sound policies, efficient execution, institutional reforms and inspiring leadership – not on forcing employees to stay longer in offices”, he remarked.

The BRS leader alleged that the Congress government has pushed Telangana into financial distress through corruption, poor policy choices, and reckless governance. Instead of creating sustainable revenue streams through economic growth and investment, he argued, the government was unfairly shifting the burden onto employees.

Sravan further accused the administration of fostering arbitrary governance, illegal demolitions, excessive policing and policy confusion, which he claimed had weakened administrative efficiency and created instability within the government machinery.

Questioning the Chief Minister’s “Rising Telangana” narrative, Sravan asked why the state continues to face revenue deficits and mounting debt if the government’s economic policies are succeeding. He urged Revanth Reddy to introspect on the causes of Telangana’s fiscal challenges rather than blaming employees.

“Telangana does not need a government obsessed with measuring working hours. It needs honest leadership, fiscal discipline, administrative wisdom and effective implementation”, he said, adding that revenue growth can only come through investment, transparency and competent administration.

Taking aim at the Congress government’s record, Sravan said the people of Telangana have witnessed nearly three years of unfulfilled promises, policy paralysis and administrative confusion. He urged the Chief Minister to move beyond publicity-driven governance and focus on delivering tangible results.

Concluding his remarks, Sravan challenged Revanth Reddy to restore the state’s financial health and administrative credibility, warning that the public expects governance and performance rather than “excuses and propaganda”. “Enough of corruption, enough of immature governance. Either perform, or perish”, he asserted.
