
Hyderabad, June 26 (RAHNUMA): The Rotary Club of Hyderabad East, in partnership with The Rotary Foundation and the Rotary Club of Canton, USA, will inaugurate a state-of-the-art Food Science & Testing Laboratory at Veeranari Chakali Ilamma Women’s University on June 29.
The Rs.40-lakh NABL-accredited facility, funded through a Rotary Global Grant, aims to strengthen food science education, research, innovation and industry-oriented training.
Sridevasena, Commissioner of Technical & Collegiate Education, will inaugurate the laboratory. Prof. Surya Dhananjay, Vice-Chancellor, Veeranari Chakali Ilamma Women’s University, and Dr. S.V. Ram Prasad, District Governor, Rotary International District 3150 will attend as guests of honour, while K Prabhakar, District Rotary Foundation Chair, RI District 3150, will be the special guest.
The laboratory includes four dedicated units—Food Testing & Quality Assurance, Product Development & Innovation, Research & Analysis, and Training & Skill Development. It is expected to provide students and researchers with advanced facilities for product development, quality testing, and industry-focused skill enhancement.
Calling the project a milestone in educational infrastructure, Govind Putta said the initiative would help nurture skilled professionals and promote food safety, quality, and technological advancement.
