Hyderabad, June 28 (RAHNUMA): Union Minister of Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy said that the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi needs to introspect on his role as the Leader of the Opposition and added that he had recently completed two years as the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha while noting that During this two-year period, he has set a unique record: he has faced defeat in every election held—with the sole exception of Kerala—while serving as the Leader of the Opposition.
Reddy said that In the elections held following the 2024 Lok Sabha polls across states such as Maharashtra, Haryana, Jharkhand, Jammu & Kashmir, Bihar, West Bengal, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Assam, and Puducherry the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won 664 assembly seats, whereas the Congress was confined to just 171 assembly seats.
“Such resounding results are being achieved because the people are wholeheartedly endorsing the governance of the Bharatiya Janata Party under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi a government that addresses public issues and respects the aspirations of the people. The public has enabled the BJP to achieve numerous milestones including a hat-trick of victories in Assam and Haryana, the appointment of the first-ever BJP Chief Minister in Bihar, the formation of a government with a magnificent majority in West Bengal for the first time in history and securing power for a second consecutive term in Puducherry. At the same time, the people of the country have lost faith in Rahul Gandhi due to the anti-national policies he pursues and his tendency to make statements based on a personal agenda that runs counter to the aspirations of the public. His conduct mirrors the pattern of consecutive electoral defeats suffered by the Congress party,” he claimed .
He mocked that Rahul Gandhi was not the only one to receive a promotion despite dismal failure but the Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir was also elevated to the rank of a Field Marshal even after the Pakistan Army suffered severe losses during ‘Operation Sindoor.’
He quipped that None of them can predict when Rahul Gandhi might gain the wisdom to act as a responsible Leader of the Opposition. “However, the people desire a responsible opposition. How can we expect responsible leadership from a dynastic politician who spends more time vacationing in undisclosed locations abroad than in India, trying to understand the sentiments of the nation’s people,” he said .
