Hyderabad, July 3 (RAHNUMA): Declaring that the State government is committed to delivering world-class road infrastructure across Telangana, Roads & Buildings and Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Friday directed officials to speed- up all ongoing projects and ensure timely completion of major infrastructure works.

Chairing a marathon review meeting with officials at the Secretariat, the Minister said the government, under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, have embarked on an unprecedented programme to construct high-quality roads across the State.

He said the first phase of the HAM road programme envisages construction of 6,092 km of roads at an estimated cost of nearly ₹13,000 crore under 34 packages. Officials were instructed to accelerate execution and, after the monsoon, take up construction in three shifts, including night hours, to ensure completion within the stipulated schedule.

Stating that quality road connectivity would serve as a catalyst for economic growth, industrial development and employment generation, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy directed chief engineers to deploy experienced field engineers for each package and maintain close supervision over the works.

The Minister announced that foundation stones for HAM and CRF road projects in Karimnagar district would be laid on July 6 in the presence of local Ministers and elected representatives, and instructed officials to complete all preparatory arrangements.

Calling for greater accountability, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy instructed officials to post technically competent and committed engineers to all prestigious projects. He warned that he would begin surprise inspections of project sites from this week and that any negligence or delay in execution would invite stringent action.
