Revanth orders development of forest lands into eco-tourism hubs in CURE region

Hyderabad, July 6 (RAHNUMA): Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed officials to develop the forest lands under the CURE region into eco-tourism destinations in coordination with the Tourism department.

He instructed officials to develop eco parks across Hyderabad on the lines of the Gurranguda Eco Park. The Chief Minister also called for the development of forest lands in the Future City as world-class ecological destinations with international standards.

The Chief Minister held a review meeting with officials of the Tourism department at the Marri Channa Reddy Human Resource Development (MCRHRD) in Jubilee Hills on Monday and made key suggestions regarding the development of tourism sites.

On the occasion, Revanth Reddy directed officials to create urban forest-style facilities and expedite the projects by appointing a dedicated special officer to oversee their implementation.

The Chief Minister further instructed officials to develop the heritage bridges at Puranapul into tourist attractions and provide adequate visitor amenities on the bridges to enhance the tourist experience.

Revanth Reddy has directed officials to place special focus on developing tourist destinations in Hyderabad and instructed them to further develop the historic Taramati Baradari, located near Golconda, into a major tourist attraction.

“If there is an opportunity, the traffic should be diverted and an opportunity should be provided to the tourists. The exercise should be started on the Global Investment Summit to be held in December and committees should be formed for coordination between departments for the summit,” he said.

The Chief Minister also ordered the comprehensive development of Durgam Cheruvu as a full-fledged tourism destination.

He directed officials to modernise the Manjeera and Dilkusha guest houses to enhance tourism infrastructure.

Under the Tourism Hub Development Scheme, the Chief Minister instructed officials to develop Vikarabad as a key tourism destination. He also called for the development of the Veerabhadra Swamy Temple in Vikarabad and suggested constituting a temple committee on the lines of the Yadadri Temple Board to oversee its development and management.

CM Advisor Ramakrishna Rao, Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, Chief Secretary CMO Seshadri, Principal Secretary Sridhar, Tourism Secretary Vani Prasad, Tourism Corporation MD Gautami attended the meeting.
