Hyderabad, July 17 (RAHNUMA): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday virtually inaugurated the redeveloped Hi-Tech City railway station in Hyderabad as part of the inauguration of 75 Amrit Bharat railway stations across 20 states under the Amrit Bharat Scheme. Earlier in the day, Narendra Modi flagged off India’s first hydrogen-powered train between Jind and Sonipat from Jind in Haryana. The PM stated that Jind and Haryana have permanently etched their names in the pages of history. Besides being completely emission-free, India’s Hydrogen Train stands as a remarkably successful testament to “Make in India”, he noted.
The station has been modernized with a new station building, improved waiting halls, lifts, escalators, Divyangjan-friendly facilities, digital signages and other passenger amenities at a cost of Rs.35.61 crore.
A parallel inauguration ceremony was held at Hi-Tech City Railway Station, attended by MLC A.V.N. Reddy, South Central Railway General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, Secunderabad DRM R Gopalakrishnan and other railway officials.
Addressing the gathering, A.V.N. Reddy said the Centre has undertaken railway development projects worth over Rs.40,000 crore in Telangana and emphasized that the Union Government is strengthening connectivity through major investments in rail infrastructure.

The event also featured prize distribution for essay, drawing, painting and selfie competitions organised to mark the station’s transformation, along with cultural performances.
BJP Telangana President N Ramchander Rao, who attended the Hyderabad event as chief guest, claimed that the Narendra Modi-led government has brought transformational changes to Indian Railways. He stated that Telangana’s annual railway allocation has increased from Rs.500 crore before 2014 to Rs.4,900 crore as on date, and noted that 41 railway stations in the state are being modernized. He also said five Vande Bharat trains are currently operating from Hyderabad and that plans are underway for future high-speed and bullet train corridors.
