KCR PAYS TRIBUTE TO DASARATHI ON HIS BIRTH ANNIVERSARY

Hyderabad, July 22 (RAHNUMA): BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao on Wednesday paid rich tributes to renowned poet and writer Dasarathi Krishnamacharyulu, who lent his voice and pen to the Telangana Armed Peasant Struggle, on the occasion of his birth anniversary.

Recalling Dasarathi’s immense contribution to Telangana’s cultural and literary heritage, KCR described him as a warrior who fought tirelessly to preserve the region’s identity. Even while imprisoned, Dasarathi proclaimed the immortal words, “Naa Telangana Koti Ratnala Veena” (My Telangana is a Veena of ten million gems), inspiring generations of Telanganites, he noted.

Further, KCR said that, in recognition of Dasarathi Krishnamacharyulu’s sacrifices and his literary struggle for Telangana’s identity, the previous BRS government officially celebrated his birth anniversary and instituted a literary award in his name.

Stating that Telangana’s identity is once again facing challenges, KCR said the spirit embodied by Dasarathi – a literary warrior who fearlessly challenged oppressive rulers for the sake of Telangana’s self-respect and identity – is essential for today’s society.
