Hyderabad, July 26 (RAHNUMA): Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy on Sunday inaugurated Komuravelli Railway Station . He addresses a gathering at the inaugural event . He said that It gives him great joy to inaugurate the new railway station in the presence of Komuravelli Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy, the revered deity of the Golla and Kuruma communities and added that This project, for which the foundation stone was laid in 2024, had become a reality today through the grace of Lord Mallanna, fulfilling the long-cherished dream of lakhs of devotees.
“Connectivity to Karimnagar has been established through the new Manoharabad-Kothapalli railway line. Work on the 76-kilometer stretch between Manoharabad and Siddipet has already been completed. Although Komuravelli was not included in the initial proposals, this railway station building was constructed at a cost of ₹6 crore—featuring modern amenities and an architectural design that reflects the grandeur of the temple—for the convenience of devotees. The DEMU trains running between Secunderabad and Siddipet will now halt at Komuravelli. As these trains consist entirely of unreserved coaches, travel is very affordable (for instance, the fare from Secunderabad to Komuravelli is only ₹25). This will greatly benefit devotees, students, employees, and small traders, while also boosting spiritual tourism and local business,” he said.
Reddy noted that the Construction of new railway lines had been completed (Peddapalli-Nizamabad, Jaggayyapeta-Vishnupuram, Bhadrachalam-Sattupalli, Devarakadra-Krishna, Akkannapet-Medak) and added that Doubling, tripling and quadrupling works covering 576 km had been completed while noting that the MMTS Phase-2 and Kazipet bypass projects are completed on schedule.
“The Railway track electrification covering a record 2,034 km has been completed. The Railway projects worth Rs. 47,984 crore are currently in various stages of execution in Telangana. The Extension of MMTS Phase-2 by 35 km up to Yadadri at a cost of Rs. 412 crore. New 173 km line connecting Pandurangapuram-Bhadrachalam-Malkangiri at a cost of Rs. 3,591 crore and Kazipet-Vijayawada tripling works are in the final stage.
The Doubling works on the Bibinagar-Guntur, Mudkhed-Dhone, Bhadrachalam-Dornakal and Motumari-Vishnupuram sections are underway and the bypass and Rail Over Bridge (ROB) works are progressing in areas including Nizamabad, Nashkal–Hasanparthi Road, Vishnupuram, Peddapalli, Vikarabad, and Pagidipalli. A new railway terminal at Cherlapalli has been completed and inaugurated by the Honorable Modi ji. The indigenous security technology ‘Kavach’ is being implemented across 63 stations and a 627 km stretch in Telangana. We achieved 100% elimination of the 121 unmanned level crossings that existed in 2014 by the year 2018. Additionally, 249 manned level crossings were eliminated in a phased manner,” he said.
He noted that To ensure public safety, they had constructed 329 Road Under Bridges (RUBs), 59 Road Over Bridges (ROBs), and 58 Foot Over Bridges and added that they had created employment opportunities for local artisans, handloom weavers and tribal communities by setting up 88 stalls across 73 stations in the state while noting that Five Vande Bharat Express trains are operating from Hyderabad to Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, Bengaluru and Nagpur.
