Hyderabad, July 28 (RAHNUMA): With the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting heavy rainfall across Telangana over the next two to three days, Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju has directed all the District Collectors to remain on high alert and take precautionary measures to prevent public inconvenience.
During a teleconference on Monday with the District Collectors, Police Commissioners and Superintendents of Police, the Chief Secretary reviewed the weather situation, agriculture contingency measures, Vanamahotsavam and other key issues.
He noted that while five to six districts received normal rainfall, 26 districts continue to face a rainfall deficit. To support farmers, seed melas are being organised across the State under the Agriculture department’s contingency plan to promote alternative crops.
Sanjay Jaju said NDRF teams have already been deployed in Bhadradri Kothagudem (Bhadrachalam), Mulugu and Nirmal districts, with additional teams from Hyderabad and other centres ready for immediate deployment if required.
Senior officials, including Principal Secretary Ahmed Nadeem and Secretaries Dasari Harichandana and Surendra Mohan, participated in the review meeting.
