
Hyderabad, July 28 (RAHNUMA): The Medical and Health Services Recruitment Board (MHSRB) on Tuesday declared the final selection results for the recruitment of 500 specialist doctor posts in government hospitals operating under the Telangana Vaidya Vidhana Parishad (TVVP).
The results pertain to general surgery (174 posts), general medicine (166), Orthopaedics (89), and Radiology (71). The board announced the final selection list after completing certificate verification following the release of the provisional merit list.
The Telangana government had earlier issued a notification to recruit 1,616 civil assistant surgeon (specialist) posts across 24 specialties to address the shortage of specialist doctors in government hospitals and strengthen healthcare services for the public.
As part of the recruitment drive, the selection process for 692 posts in anaesthesia, gynaecology, paediatrics, and orthopaedics had already been completed.
Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha has recently handed over appointment letters to the selected candidates. Officials said the details of the newly selected candidates have been uploaded to the MHSRB website.
Congratulating the selected doctors, Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha expressed confidence that they would work with dedication to provide quality healthcare services to poor and middle-class patients visiting government hospitals.
The Minister reiterated that the government is committed to eliminating the shortage of specialist doctors in government hospitals by filling 1,616 specialist posts across 24 departments. With the latest recruitment, the appointment process for 1,192 posts has been completed. He directed recruitment board officials to expedite the filling of the remaining vacancies at the earliest.
